Flintoff left Top Gear after the horrific accident, and several members of staff who witnessed it signed off ill indefinitely due to post-traumatic stress disorder.

Following the tragedy, his wife Rachael reportedly persuaded him to stay off work, raising questions about whether Flintoff would restart his broadcast career following the accident, which left him gravely injured and forced him to spend five weeks in the hospital.

After appearing on talkSPORT, Steve Harmison revealed fresh details about his condition.

He also claimed Flintoff was training a guiding dog while planning his return to work. ‘It was lovely to see him return,’ said Harmison.

‘It’s been challenging; you’ve seen the images of him with a smile on his face, but I saw him about six weeks ago when my son Charlie and his son Rocky played against each other, and it was lovely to see him.
