Rosemary, her mother, worked as a computer analyst before becoming the vice president of Neurofibromatosis Inc., a West Michigan neurofibromatosis support group.
Her father, Edward, owned a film post-production company.
After Gillian’s birth, the family moved to Puerto Rico for 15 months and then to England, where they spent the next nine years of her childhood.
